Abderite Theatre took to the streets of Aberdeen in December. Two antique photographers took free photos with their (borrowed) state of the art Polaroid camera of folks who walked by… The photographers gave each lovely passer by their photo of themselves … with a special little Abderite message of quirky happiness inscribed upon the photo, to illuminate their day.

Poor Sam’s not feeling well and the alien world inside Sam’s body has become all topsy-turvy: armies of cells fighting, organs partying, a volcanic belly and intestines knotted and confused. Oh, and it appears that some of the grey matter of Sam’s brain has gone on holiday to his costa del foot. Join Sam’s grey matter and the rest of his strange inside world as they seek to find the best way to make Sam well again.

This was an amazing dance piece – Cie Fabre-Senou – Hali-Mê, as part of the CaDences Festival in Archachon. We were taken on a boat, with the musicians, across the lagoon, where we stopped to see the performance on another boat.

Festival in the City

Part of the Aberdeen International Youth Festival 2008. There were performances all over the city centre, including a stage in Union Terrace Gardens, featuring both international artists and local acts, such as Ocean’s Three. It was a great day until about 4 when the rain started…

I was asked to put together an exhibition illustrating a new theatre piece, Lottie, by Miitchell School of Drama at the Garioch Theatre Festival.
The story was inspired by poor house records and items held in the Aberdeen City and Shire archives.
